MONROVIA, November 15, 2019 —The Director-General of the National Social Security & Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Dewitt vonBallmoos, has been reappointed Chairperson of the Technical Commission (TC) on Investment of Social Security Funds of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) for another three-year term.

The reappointment was done by the ISSA Bureau on October 18, 2019 at its 120th Meeting in Brussels, Belgium, on the proposal of the ISSA President, Prof. Dr. Joachim Breuer, and runs from 2020 – 2022. The NASSCORP boss was first appointed to the position in 2017.

The reappointment of Mr. vonBallmoos was contained in a letter dated November 13, 2019 under the signature of ISSA Secretary-General Marcelo Abi-Ramia Caetano that was addressed to him.

“On behalf of the ISSA President and the General Secretariat, I would like to congratulate and thank you for your dedication to the work of the TC on Investment of Social Security Funds and for your continued support to our unique Association,” the letter said.

The ISSA Scribe used the occasion to inform the NASSCORP boss of the 14th ISSA Forum for Technical Commissions that will take place from 3 to 4 March 2020 in Geneva, Switzerland, and added that the forum would bring together the Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of all TCs to discuss and prepare the work plans of the Technical Commissions for the Triennium 2020-2022.

“As Chairperson of a Technical Commission, your first official task will be to designate the Vice-Chairpersons of the TC as stipulated in Article 50 of the ISSA Constitution. The ISSA General Secretariat is currently compiling a list of potential Vice-chairpersons, taking into account the need for both continuity and for renewal, as well as regional and gender balance in the work of the TCs,” the letter concluded.

Meanwhile, the NASSCORP boss has thanked the ISSA Bureau for his preferment and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him.
