NASSCORP ASSISTS ORPHANS & OLD FOLKS

The National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) has begun the distribution of relief items to several orphanages and old folks homes in and around Monrovia.

The 40-foot relief container was donated to NASSCORP through the office of the Vice President Hon. Joseph N. Boakai. The Container was part of several containers donated to the Vice President’s Office by His Church Charities, a London based charitable organization.

In a letter to the corporation the vice president said “In appreciation of Social Security’s support and assistance with the shipment cost, I am hereby donating an entire container to your entity for distribution through you corporate social responsibility programs.”

Opening the container to begin distribution to orphanages and other need in the society Director-General Dewitt vonBallmoos said NASSCORP was grateful to the Office of the Vice President for donating a container of relief items to the corporation.

He promised to spearhead the distribution process to ensure that the relief items reach the target groups. Distributions have been carried out to the Old Folks Home, Jesus Christ Children Ministry, Villagers Incorporated, several communities’ dwellers, among others.
