Our Investments
The Investment Division of NASSCORP was established on December 1, 2003. The creation of the Division was in response to the 1975 Act of the Liberian Legislature which, among others, enjoined the Corporation to “formulate, and, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors, implement an investment program”.
Recognizing that Liberia’s social security program would be funded by contributions from employers and employees such that receipts from contributions may not be adequate by themselves to meet the benefits employees may become entitled to upon retirement or when qualified under other eligibility criteria, the Act empowers the Corporation to invest some residual funds in order to enhance its financial capacity to service benefit liabilities of beneficiaries.
Against this backdrop, the investment outfit was established as an institutional framework intended to plan, organize, coordinate and supervise the investment of the corporate reserve funds. The broad asset classes that constitute the investment portfolio of NASSCORP include real estate development, and financial assets.
Name of Building: NASSCORP Headquarter
Building Established: 2019
Location: 24th Street, Sinkor, Tubman Blvd.
County: Montserrado
Purpose: The headquarters is located at 24th street, Sinkor. The NASSCORP Administrative Headquarter construction project began in 2015 with construction works contracted to CESAF Liberia Limited. The edifice comprise of a 7 (Seven) Storey office building and a 3 (three) storey carport/office annex building that is being leased to Loita Capital. The building was dedicated and opened in April 2019.
Name of Building:Jahmale Medical Diagnostic Center
Building Established: 2018
Location: Elwa Junction, Paynesville City
County: Montserrado
Purpose: The Jahmale Diagnostic Center is a modern medical diagnostics center which emerged due to the significant weaknesses in the country’s health delivery system. The increased volume and high cost associated with Liberians travelling outside of Liberia to seek medical diagnostic services presented a sound basis for investment. The diagnostic center is expected to attract and encourage Liberian medical specialist to return to the country as well as allow specialized knowledge transfer of local medical technicians.
Name of Building: Regional Headquarters
Building Established: 2021
Location: Tubmanburg, Bomi County
County: Bomi
Purpose: The National Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) in its goal to gradually establish infrastructure in the various counties for its regional operations embarked upon the construction of a regional office in Tubmanburg, Bomi County (Region 3), where there previously existed a rented facility for regional operations. The construction of the regional office facility in Bomi commenced in 2019, and was completed in February 2021.
The new Regional Complex located at Bomi was unveiled and dedicated on March 23rd 2021. This regional complex consists of a Regional Office, a five (5) bedrooms guest house, two (2) studio apartments, and a Manager’s residence. The regional office has a banking premise for lease.
Name of Building: NASSCORP House
Building Established: 2014
Location: Elwa Junction, Paynesville City
County: Montserrado
Purpose: This is a five (5) storey modern commercial complex located at ELWA Junction, in the city of Paynesville. This initiative was geared towards diversifying NASSCORP’s infrastructure development to increase return on its investment. To date, this investment has spurred economic activities in that locality to include the appreciation of real property value and the expansion of commercial activities. It is currently leased to the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).
Name of Building: Kakata Guest House
Building Established: 2009
Location: Kakata, Margibi County
County: Margibi
Purpose: The NASSCORP Guest House is located in Kakata, Margibi County and consists of 10 bedrooms. The Guest House is one of the major hospitality facilities in the heart of Kakata with furnished rooms, and comes with a conference hall for workshops and other major functions.
Name of Building: Voinjama Guest House
Building Established: 2012
Location: Voinjama, Lofa County
County: Lofa
Purpose: This a sixteen (16) bed room guest house facility located in Voinjama city, Lofa County. This project was instituted with the objective of decentralizing the Corporation’s infrastructure development program as well as targeting the hospitality needs of many GOL’s developmental partners and businesses implementing various development projects in the County.
Name of Building: Ablee Karngar Commercial/Residential Complex
Building Established: 2010
Location: Buchanan, Grand Bassa County
County: Grand Bassa
Purpose: The NASSCORP Buchanan Multi complex property and residential facility is ideally located in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County. It consists of a commercial complex building and a residential building. The property boasts of a commercial facility that is used for commercial offices, and a residential building which consists of eight (8) two bedroom apartments. These facilities have been leased to companies, and NGO’s respectfully.
