Our Corporate Divisions

The Corporate Divisions are the implementing arms of NASSCORP. They are guided in carrying out their functions by the mandate and core values of the Corporation. The activities of each division is defined by terms of reference (TOR) and they are expected to maintain corporate excellence at all times. To accommodate its monumental responsibilities, management has the right to institute an amendment in the existing functions to buttress the workforce output for efficient and effective service delivery.   

Administration

The Administration Division principal functions and responsibilities are to manage the administrative support system, including the human resources, procure logistics and maintain all assets of the Corporation. This Division comprises of the Human Resources and General Services Departments whose functions include:

Human Resources Department: The Human Resources Department is responsible to recruit and maintain a trained, qualified and effective workforce to perform the functions of the Corporation.

Public Information, Education & Training

The Division of Public Information, Education and Training (PIET) principal functions and responsibilities are to create public awareness and promote the services and programs of NASSCORP, inform insured employers and employees of their rights, obligations and benefits under the Schemes, and strengthen NASSCORP human resources’ competencies through specialized skill-building training.

Outline below are its three constituent departments and their basic functions and responsibilities:

Accounts

The Accounts Division principal functions and responsibilities are to ensure that the fiscal assets of the Corporation are secured and accounted for, and ensure that the financial policy of the Corporation is implemented accordingly. This Division is headed by a Chief Accountant and supported by three Accounts Sections, namely: Operation Section, Funds Section and Reconciliation Section.

Insurance

The Insurance Division principal functions and responsibilities are to duly register all eligible entities and their employees under the Schemes, process claims for benefits, and screen and validate all requests for Medical Board Examination. Regional Operation

The Regional Operations Division principal functions and responsibilities are to supervise and coordinate the functions and activities of all Regional Offices. Its functions are, but not limited to

  • Supervising and coordinating the functions and activities of the Regional Offices;
  • Receiving and validating reports from the Regional Offices;
  • Receiving and ensuring claim files emanating from the Regional Offices subscribe to NASSCORP claim procedures; 

Contributions & Insured Records

The Contribution & Insured Records Department principal functions and responsibilities are to receive, compile and maintain accurate records of all contributions paid by registered employers on behalf of insured employees, maintain a comprehensive and accurate insured records repository, and archive  of all NASSCORP registrations forms, registered employers’ payrolls, verify beneficiaries’ contribution payments statuses and generate and issue individual ‘Statement of Earnings’ to insured employees. Beneficiary

The Beneficiary Service (Department) principal functions and responsibilities are to ensure the needs, complaints, and concerns of beneficiaries are addressed promptly and adequately, direct beneficiaries / visitors to the relevant division/department for redress/answers, collaborate with relevant divisions / departments to secure beneficiaries’ satisfaction, and provide feedbacks.

Risk Management

The Risk Management Department principal functions and responsibilities are to design, implement, monitor, review and continually improve measures for NASSCORP risk management process in order to impact/affect its framework objectives.

Corporate Policy & Strategy

The Corporate Policy & Strategy Division principal functions and responsibilities are to develop innovative strategies and policies for improved corporate governance and service delivery.

Internal Audit

The internal audit principal functions and responsibilities are to ensure that adequate internal control measures are instituted to protect the financial resources and operational assets of the Corporation.

Legal & Defaulters

The Legal & Defaulters Department principal functions and responsibilities are to provide legal assistance to the Corporation and liaise with and provide support to the External Legal Counsel in judicial matters.

Investment

The Investment Department principal functions and responsibilities are to identify investment possibilities and thoroughly ensure the implementation of investments guarantee returns.

Research & Actuarial

The Research, Planning & Actuarial Department principal functions and responsibilities are to serve as the main source of scheme-specific and other important data for internal and external use as well as facilitate the conduct of periodic assessment of the Program.

Information Technology

The Information Technology Department principal functions and responsibilities are to design, manage and maintain an efficient IT system for NASSCORP convenient public service delivery and institutional effectiveness.

Technical Assistant/Director General Office

The Technical Assistant principal functions and responsibilities in the Office of the Director General are to provide valuable and reliable support in and out of the office as well as perform basic administrative tasks.
