NASSCORP ADOPTS MOBILE MONEY PAYMENT

As part of the Corporation’s effort to fast track the payment of benefits to its thousands of beneficiaries, the National Social Security Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) introduced Mobile Money in its payment system. Prior to this, the Corporation collaborated with three mobile Money GSM operators-Lonestar MTN, Orange Money and GN Mobile Money and piloted the use of Mobile Money as a mode of payment in Lofa and Nimba Counties in July & August 2019.

Beneficiaries targeted during the first phase of the pilot included ONLY CSA/GOL pensioners residing in Lofa and Nimba Counties. According to information gathered from the Claims & Benefits Department, the purpose of the exercise was to take NASSCORP services to its beneficiaries, especially those in the rural areas who have stressful experiences of traveling long distances to Monrovia to get their benefits.

In order to participate in the pilot exercise, one must be a beneficiary (direct or survivor) of the NASSCORP/GOL pension program with awards and pension ID card issued after participating in the vetting and validation exercise.

A proxy of a beneficiary wishing to participate in the exercise must present awards letter and pension ID issued to the beneficiary following the vetting and validation exercise.
