The Umbrella Sports Association (UMSA) of the National Social Security & Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) won the Inter-ministerial Kickball Trophy 2019. Speaking on behalf of the Sports Association, UMSA President Sie D. Anderson said the team had been in the tournament for the past one month, partaking with 40 Agencies and Ministries.
“It was a tough journey, but NASSCORP won two of the strongest teams, the Ministry of. States for Presidential Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning,” Mr. Anderson pointed out.
UMSA defeated the National Legislature 6 points to 1 and walked away with a cash prize of L$150,000 and a trophy. At a welcoming ceremony held at NASSCORP’s 24th Street Head Office, the UMSA president presented the trophy and the cash prize to NASSCORP Deputy Director-General, Nya D. Twayen, Jr.
Receiving the trophy and cash prize, Mr. Tweyen encouraged the UMSA soccer team to bring trophy in the future. He turned over the trophy to the Director-General, Dewitt vonBallmoos. The Director-General thanked the kickball team and said it wasn’t something strange for UMSA to have walked away with such a trophy.
